The Police have arrested a 25-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of snatch theft at the junction of Petain Road and Sturdee Road on 30 June 2016.

 

On 30 June 2016 at about 1.03 am, a 36-year-old woman reported that an unknown man had snatched her handbag and fled.

 

Upon receipt of the report, officers from Central Division conducted extensive follow-up investigations and established the identity of the suspect.  He was subsequently arrested along Dover Road on 7 July 2016 at about 3.00 pm.

 

The suspect will be charged in Court on 9 July 2016 with an offence of Snatch Theft under Section 356 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, which carries an imprisonment term of not less than one year and not more than 7 years, and shall also be liable to caning.
