The Police have arrested a 42-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of snatch theft at Blk 979A Buangkok Green.
On 11 July 2016 at about 10.46 pm, a 24-year-old female victim reported that an unknown male cyclist had snatched her handphone and fled towards Yio Chu Kang Road. Officers from Ang Mo Kio Division conducted extensive follow-up investigations and established the identity of the suspect. Within 18 hours from the time of the report, the officers arrested him at Buangkok Green on 12 July 2016 at about 4.00 pm.
The suspect will be charged in Court on 14 July 2016 with an offence of Snatch Theft under Section 356 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, which carries an imprisonment term of not less than 1 year and not more than 7 years, and shall also be liable to caning.
