The Police have been conducting enforcement operations against massage establishments in the vicinity of Chinatown, Little India, Jalan Besar, Middle Road, Bencoolen Street, Jalan Sultan and Coleman Street between January and July 2016.
The operations were led by officers from Central Division and had targeted massage establishments that flouted regulations under the Massage Establishments Act.
Following the recent operation in July and conclusion of investigations, six unlicensed massage parlour operators will be charged in Court on 18 July 2016 with an offence of carrying on an establishment for massage without a valid licence under Section 9(a) of the Massage Establishments Act), Chapter 173.
