The Police have arrested a 22-year-old man who is believed to be involved in a case of attempted snatch theft along Jalan Pelikat Park Connector.

 

On 26 July 2016 at about 5.18am, a 62-year-old woman reported that an unknown man came from her rear on a skate scooter and attempted to snatch her gold necklace earlier on the same day. The victim held on to her necklace and shouted, causing the man to release his grip and flee from the scene in an unknown direction.

 

Officers from Ang Mo Kio Division conducted extensive investigative probes to establish the identity of the suspect and arrested him at Blk 174D Hougang Avenue 1 on 28 July 2016 at about 6.10 pm.

 

The suspect will be charged in Court on 30 July 2016 with an offence of Attempted Snatch Theft under Section 356 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, which is punishable with imprisonment for a term of up to 7 years imprisonment and shall be liable to caning.
