The Police have arrested a 35 year-old man who is believed to be involved in a case of Snatch Theft at Block 640 Bedok Reservoir Road, within 12 hours of the report lodged.
On 20 August 2016 at about 1.10pm, a woman reported to the Police that while she was walking back home at Block 640 Bedok Reservoir Road, a man came from her rear, snatched her hand phone and fled. Upon receipt of the report, officers from Bedok Division conducted extensive ground enquiries and investigation. The identity of the suspect was established and he was arrested at Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3 on 21 August 2016 at about 1am.
The suspect will be charged in Court on 22 August 2016 with the offence of Snatch Theft under Section 356 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224 punishable with imprisonment for a term of not less than one year and not more than 7 years, and shall also be liable to canning.
