The Police have arrested a 32 year-old woman for rash act. She is believed to have thrown flower pots, wooden planks, marble tiles and other items out from the bedroom window of her unit.

 

Between July and August 2016, Police have received several reports of flower pots, wooden planks, marble tiles and other items being thrown down from an unknown floor at Block 694 Hougang St 61.

 

Upon receipt of the reports, officers from Ang Mo Kio Division conducted ground enquiries and the suspect’s identity was subsequently established.  She was arrested on 23 August 2016 at about 2.30 pm.

 

The suspect will be charged in Court on 24 August 2016 with the offence of Rash Act under Section 336(a) of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, which is punishable with imprisonment for a term of up to 6 months, or with a fine of up to $2,500, or with both.  A Court Order will be sought to remand the suspect for psychiatric assessment at the Institute of Mental Health.

 

The Police take a serious view of such dangerous acts that endanger the lives of others and will take swift action against the perpetrators.
