The Police have arrested three youths aged between 15 to 18 for their suspected involvement in a case of Robbery with Hurt along Beatty Road.
On 24 August 2016 at about 2.12 am, Police received a report informing that a man had been assaulted and robbed. Investigations revealed that three male suspects had assaulted the victim and took his wallet containing cash amounting to $700/-.
Through extensive ground enquiries, officers from Central Division established the identities of the suspects and arrested them on the same day along King George’s Avenue. The stolen wallet was recovered and seized as case exhibit. The three suspects were also believed to be involved in another case of Robbery with Hurt at Kallang Riverside Park on 22 August 2016.
The three suspects will be charged in court on 26 August 2016 with the offence of Robbery with Hurt under Section 394 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. If convicted, they face a jail term of not less than 5 years and not more than 20 years, and shall also be punished with caning of not less than 12 strokes.
