The Police have arrested a 43-year-old man believed to be involved in a case of Attempted Robbery at Block 140 Tampines Street 12.

 

On 29 August 2016 at about 10.23am, a 59-year-old man reported to the Police that a man had assaulted and tried to rob him at Blk 140 Tampines Street 12, after he had just withdrawn a large sum of money from a bank. The victim reported that he fought back and was hurt in the process. While the suspect managed to flee, he failed to take any valuables from the victim.

 

Upon receipt of the report, officers from Bedok Division conducted extensive ground enquiries and with the aid of police cameras, the identity of the suspect was established and he was swiftly arrested along Tampines Street 71 at about 6pm, within eight hours of the report. 

 

The suspect will be charged in Court on 30 August 2016 with the offence of Attempted Robbery with hurt under Section 394 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, punishable with imprisonment for a term of not less than 5 years and not more than 20 years and shall also be punished with canning with not less than 12 strokes.
