Eleven men were arrested following a 15-hour joint enforcement operation that commenced from 10am on 7 September 2016.
The operation was jointly led by Ang Mo Kio Division and Central Narcotics Bureau Enforcement “F” Division, and involved officers from the Singapore Civil Defence Force. The officers conducted checks at housing estates in Ang Mo Kio, Hougang, Sengkang, and Yishun, and public entertainment outlets in Sembawang area. SCDF found one public entertainment outlet to have breached Fire Safety Rules and Regulations and will be following up on the necessary action.
Following the operation, six suspected drug offenders were arrested. In addition, four men were arrested for “Gaming in Public” under the Common Gaming Houses Act and another man was arrested for “Unlawful Remote Gambling” under the Remote Gambling Act. A mobile phone and gambling paraphernalia were seized as case exhibits.
Investigations are ongoing.
