The Police have arrested 176 suspects in a series of anti-crime operations over a four-day multi-agency joint operation that ended on 12 September 2016.

 

The operation was led by Central Division and supported by officers from the Police’s Criminal Investigation Department, Special Operations Command and the Central Narcotics Bureau. The area of operation included commercial buildings, shophouses, private and public residential buildings in various locations in Little India, Jalan Besar, Golden Mile Complex, Chinatown, Geylang Bahru, Tiong Bahru, Bencoolen, Jalan Sultan and Boat Quay.

 

All 176 suspects aged between 18 and 82 were arrested for their suspected involvement in illegal employment, vice activities, gambling and drug-related offences. Investigations against the suspects are ongoing.

 

Commander of Central Division, Deputy Assistant Commissioner of Police Arthur Law expressed his appreciation to all the units and agencies involved for their strong support and collaboration in the fight against crime.
