The Police have arrested a 28-year-old man for allegedly hurting on-duty auxiliary police officers.

 

On 14 September 2016, auxiliary police officers from Certis Cisco reported to the Police that they had detained a suspected contraband cigarette smuggler who was aggressive and had assaulted the officers. The suspect was subsequently arrested by officers from Jurong Division.

 

The suspect will be charged in Court on 15 September 2016 with the offence of Voluntarily Causing Hurt to Deter Public Servant from His Duty under Section 332 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224 and shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to 7 years, or with fine, or with caning, or with any combination of such punishments.
