The Police have arrested two men, aged 59 and 48, for their suspected involvement in a case of robbery with hurt at Woodlands Street 31.

 

On 19 September 2016 at about 4am, a 52-year-old woman reported that a man had hit her on the head with a helmet and taken her bag before fleeing on a motorcycle ridden by another man.

 

Officers from Jurong Division conducted extensive follow-up investigations. With the aid of images from Police cameras (POLCAM), the identities of the suspects were established and they were subsequently arrested on the same day at about 6pm in Bedok. 

 

Investigations against the 48-year-old man are ongoing. The 59-year-old man will be charged in Court on 21 September 2016 with the offence of Robbery with Hurt under Section 394 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224 which is punishable with imprisonment for a term of not less than five years and not more than 20 years and shall also be punished with caning with not less than 12 strokes.
