The Police have arrested two men, aged 28 and 30 for their suspected involvement in a case of robbery at a convenience store located at Blk 109 Clementi West St 11.

 

On 21 September 2016 at about 3.45am, a 66-year-old man reported that an unknown man wearing a helmet and ski mask had entered the shop and stolen cash from the cash register amounting to $394 before fleeing towards an unknown direction.

 

Through extensive follow-up investigations and with the aid of Police Cameras (POLCAMs), officers from Clementi division established the identity of one of the suspects and arrested him at Bayshore Road on 23 September 2016 at about 3.00 pm. The other suspect was subsequently arrested at Tanglin Halt Road on the same day at about 5.00pm. Cash amounting to about $75 and a ski mask were seized as case exhibits.

 

The two men will be charged in Court on 24 September 2016 with the offence of Robbery with common intention under Section 392 read with Section 34 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. If convicted, they are liable to an imprisonment term of not less than 3 years and not more than 14 years and shall also be punished with caning of not less than 12 strokes.
