The Police have arrested a 47-year-old man for his suspected involvement in several housebreaking and theft cases islandwide. He is believed to have targeted HDB units that were undergoing renovation works.

 

On 26 September 2016, Police received report of a break-in at a HDB unit at Blk 810A Choa Chu Kang Avenue 7. The victim, who was working on the renovation, had discovered a demolition hammer drill missing from his set of tools.

 

Officers from Jurong Division conducted extensive investigations and established the identity of the suspect before arresting him on 27 September 2016.

 

The suspect will be charged in Court on 28 September 2016 with the offence of Housebreaking and Theft by Day under Section 454 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224 which carries a maximum imprisonment term of 10 years.
