The Police have arrested a 27-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of armed robbery at Jalan Dusun.

 

On 24 August 2016 at about 5.09 pm, a 28-year-old woman reported to the Police that an unknown man armed with a stun-device had robbed her of cash amounting to $1750 and RMB1000 along Jalan Dusun. 

 

Through extensive investigations, officers from Tanglin Division established the identity of the suspect and arrested him on 27 September 2016 at about 10.00 pm at Chai Chee Road. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect is believed to be involved in several other similar cases at Balestier and Eunos estates.

 

The suspect will be charged in Court on 29 September 2016 with the offence of Armed Robbery under Section 392 read with Section 397 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. If convicted, he is liable to an imprisonment term of not less than 2 years and not more than 10 years, and shall also be punished with caning of not less than 12 strokes.
