The Police have arrested two men, aged 25 and 36, for their suspected involvement in a series of theft of metal parts from unattended trailer chassis.

 

The Police had received several reports of theft of metal parts from trailer chassis at Pioneer Road, Tuas, Sungei Kadut and Benoi Sector. The victims had parked their trailers overnight and returned to discover metal parts missing.

 

Officers from Jurong Division conducted extensive follow-up investigations and managed to establish the identities of the suspects. They were subsequently arrested on 19 October 2016 at Tuas Checkpoint.

 

Both suspects will be charged in Court on 20 October 2016 with an offence of Theft with Common Intention under Section 379 read with Section 34 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224 which carries a punishment for an imprisonment term which may extend to 3 years, or with fine, or with both.
