In a coordinated operation that took place between 2 and 3 November 2016, the Police arrested 53 persons who were wanted for various criminal offences. 

 

During the operation, officers from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and the six Police Divisions conducted multiple raids at various locations islandwide.  A total of 53 wanted persons, comprising 41 men and 12 women, were arrested for various offences including theft, cheating, criminal breach of trust, robbery and unlicensed moneylending harassment.  

 

Investigations against those arrested are ongoing.

 

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Investigations & Intelligence) concurrent Director CID Tan Chye Hee commended the officers for their teamwork and perseverance which resulted in these arrests. He said, “Police will continue to hunt down criminals who remain on the run and will spare no efforts to bring them to justice.”
