The Police have arrested a 16-year-old male youth and a 22-year-old man for suspected involvement in cases of Theft of Motor Vehicle.

 

For the first case, on 7 November 2016 at about 2.40am, police officers from Woodlands East Neighbourhood Police Centre spotted a suspicious motorcycle travelling along Woodlands Ave 5. The motorcycle sped off upon being spotted however, the Police managed to detain the motorcycle and its rider shortly after. It was established that the motorcycle was stolen and a 16-year-old male youth was arrested at scene.

 

For the second case, on 3 November 2016, a 36-year-old victim reported his motorcycle stolen from a carpark along Bukit Batok Street 31. The same stolen motorcycle was subsequently spotted by officers from Traffic Police when it was travelling along Lorong Chuan on 6 November 2016. The motorcycle was stopped and a 22-year-old male rider was arrested in relation to the case.

 

 

Both suspects will be charged in Court on 8 November 2016 with an offence of Theft of Motor Vehicle under Section 379A of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, which carries a maximum jail term of seven years and shall also be liable to a fine.
