Man Arrested For Suspected Involvement In A Case Of Criminal Breach Of Trust

The Police have arrested a 23-year old man for his suspected involvement in a case of Criminal Breach of Trust as a Servant involving S$414,564.


 Between 1 November 2016 and 13 November 2016, the Police received several reports against
a local car dealership company for failing to deliver automobiles to their customers after receiving sales deposits. Officers from Ang Mo Kio Division conducted extensive follow-up investigations and arrested the suspect on 13 November 2016. Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect, an employee of the said company, had collected sales deposits amounting to S$414,564 and issued fake invoices to the customers.

 

He will be charged in Court on 15 November 2016. Anyone found guilty of committing the offence of Criminal Breach of Trust as a Servant under Section 408 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, may be punished with an imprisonment term which may extend to 15 years, and shall also be liable to fine.
