The Police have arrested a 33-year old man for his suspected involvement in a series of Cheating cases.


Between 27 and 28 November 2016, Police received several reports of fake accident scams. In these cases, the suspect would claim to be knocked down by victim’s vehicle and request for compensation for his alleged injuries. The victims had paid the suspect between $26 and $50.

 

Officers from Ang Mo Kio Division conducted extensive ground enquiries and established the identity of the suspect. He was subsequently arrested along Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1 on 28 November 2016.

 

The suspect will be charged in Court on 30 November 2016 for the offence of Cheating which carries a punishment of imprisonment for a term which may extend to 10 years and shall also be liable to a fine.
