The Police have arrested two women, aged 26 and 30 for their suspected involvement in two cases of theft from person.

 

On 8 November 2016, the Police were alerted to two cases of theft from person reported at ION Orchard and Plaza Singapura.

 

Through extensive ground enquiries and investigation, officers from Tanglin Division established the identity of the suspects and arrested them at Woodlands Checkpoint on 5 December 2016.

 

Both suspects are believed to be involved in several other cases of theft from person.

 

The two suspects will be charged in Court on 7 December 2016 with the offence of Theft with Common Intention under Section 379 read with Section 34 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. If convicted, they face an imprisonment term which may extend to 3 years or with fine, or with both.

 

Members of the public are advised to be alert of their surroundings and to safeguard their personal belongings especially at crowded places.
