The Police have arrested a 23-year-old man for his suspected involvement in motor vehicle theft.

 

On 3 December 2016, a victim reported to the Police that his lorry, which was parked along Marsiling Drive, had been stolen. The Police recovered the said stolen lorry at West Coast Road on 5 December 2016. Through extensive investigations and use of images from Polcams, officers from Jurong and Clementi Division arrested the suspect along West Coast Road on 13 December 2016.  Preliminary investigations revealed that the man is also believed to be involved in another case of motor vehicle theft.

 

The suspect will be charged in the Court on 15 December 2016 with an offence of Theft of Motor Vehicle under Section 379A of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, which carries a maximum jail term of seven years’ imprisonment and shall also be liable to a fine.
