Two Men Arrested for Voluntarily Causing Hurt with Dangerous Weapon

The Police have arrested two men aged 52 and 53 for an offence of Voluntarily Causing Hurt with Dangerous Weapon that took place along Jalan Ayer.

 

On 3 January 2017 at about 10.41am, the Police were alerted to a fight at Jalan Ayer. Upon arrival, it was established that two men were believed to have had a dispute with the 38-year-old male victim before attacking him. The identities of the suspects were established after extensive ground inquiries and they were swiftly arrested within 3 hours of the report.

 

Investigation against the 53-year-old suspect is still ongoing.

 

The 52-year-old suspect will be charged in Court on 5 January 2017 with an offence of Voluntarily Causing Hurt with Dangerous Weapons under Section 324 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. If convicted, he shall be liable to imprisonment for a term which may extend to seven years, or with fine, or with caning, or with any combination of such punishments.
