The Police have arrested a 35-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a series of cheating cases.

 

On 17 December 2016, the Police received a report on a case of cheating involving the pawning of counterfeit Rolex watches. Officers from Ang Mo Kio Division conducted extensive ground enquiries and established the identity of the suspect, who was subsequently arrested on 9 January 2017. A total of 18 counterfeit “Rolex” watches were seized from various pawnshops as case exhibits. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect is believed to be involved in several similar cases of cheating at pawnshops island-wide.

 

The suspect will be charged in Court on 11 January 2017 with the offence of Cheating which is punishable with an imprisonment term which may extend to 10 years, and shall also be liable to fine.
