The Police have arrested a 29-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man, for their suspected involvement in a series of theft cases at a fitness centre in Tampines.

On 19 September 2016, a 27-year-old victim reported that her wallet containing S$150 cash and her handphone valued at S$700 kept inside a gym locker at a fitness centre were stolen.

Upon receipt of the report, officers from Bedok Division conducted extensive follow-up investigations. The identities of the suspects were established and they were both arrested on 23 January 2017. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects are believed to be involved in similar cases reported in the same fitness centre. Police investigations are ongoing.

If convicted, both of them face imprisonment for a term which may extend to 7 years, and shall also be liable to a fine.
