Clementi Division organised Delta Citizenry Community Day 2017 at Ayer Rajah Community Club on 18 February 2017. Ms Foo Mee Har, Advisor to Ayer Rajah Grassroots Organisations and Member of Parliament for West Coast Group Representation Constituency, graced the event as the Guest-of-Honour, together with Assistant Commissioner of Police Gerald Lim, Commander Clementi Division.

Introduced in August 2010, Delta Citizery aims to enhance safety and security within neighbourhoods, by strengthening communal bonds amongst members of grassroots and residents. Members of Delta Citizenry are given opportunities to equip themselves with, develop and share useful knowledge and skills such as crime prevention measures and rendering of first aid.

About 500 participants across 13 constituencies within the jurisdiction of Clementi Division attended the event. The members participated in team bonding games where they were tested on their understanding of crime prevention measures and SGSecure knowledge on how they should respond during a terror attack. At the end of the event, the participants also collaborated to assemble a giant SGSecure jigsaw puzzle. The activity reiterated the importance of working in unity and staying strong as a community.

Delta Citizenry Community Day 2017 provided a multi-functional platform for Police to strengthen the ties with community partners and reinforce the instrumental role which the community plays in safeguarding Singapore.
