Parliamentary Secretary for Home Affairs’ Operational Visit to Protective Security Command

Parliamentary Secretary for Home Affairs Mr Amrin Amin visited the Protective Security Command (ProCom) on Tuesday, 21 February 2017. He was joined by Dr Tan Wu Meng, member of the Group Parliamentary Committee for Home Affairs and Law.

ProCom, a new specialist unit, was recently set up to protect security-sensitive locations such as Critical infrastructure in peacetime and National Emergencies, and provide security at key national events. ProCom also has the largest group of Full-time National Servicemen and Operational Ready National Servicemen in the Singapore Police Force.

Mr Amrin Amin was briefed on the work of ProCom and the training which the officers undergo. He met officers and thanked them for their efforts and good work. He also took the opportunity to emphasise the important role of Police National Servicemen who work alongside regular Police officers to ensure the smooth running of the daily operations, keeping Singapore safe and secure.
