The Police have arrested a man and a woman, aged 18 and 19, for their suspected involvement in a series of theft in dwelling cases.
Between February and March 2017, the Police received several reports from victims who had rented their rooms to the duo via online home rental platform. In these cases, the victims will discover items such as cash, personal laptops and mobile phones missing after the duo have left their units.
Officers from Bedok Division conducted extensive ground enquiries and arrested the suspects at the vicinity of Jalan Teck Kee on 21 March 2017.
The suspects will be charged in Court on 23 March 2017 for the offence of Theft In Dwelling under Section 380 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, which carries an imprisonment term which may extend to 7 years, and shall also be liable to a fine.
