The Police have arrested a 51-year-old woman believed to be involved in a series of car rental scams.

Between July and September 2016, the Police received several reports from victims who were purportedly cheated by a woman who claimed to have cars for rental at discounted rates. The woman went uncontactable after the payments were made by the victims.

Upon receipt of the report, officers from Tanglin Division conducted extensive investigations and managed to establish the identity of the suspect. She was arrested along Lengkok Bahru on 24 March 2017. Investigations against the suspect are on-going.

Anyone found guilty with the offence of Cheating may be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend up to 10 years, and shall also be liable to a fine.
