Commissioner of the Singapore Police Force (SPF) Mr Hoong Wee Teck has been conferred the Darjah Paduka Keberanian Laila Terbilang Yang Amat Gemilang Darjah Pertama (Most Exalted Order of Paduka Keberanian Laila Terbilang) by His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
The investiture ceremony was held at the Istana Nurul Iman, Negara Brunei Darussalam, on 27 March 2017.
The Darjah Paduka Keberanian Laila Terbilang Yang Amat Gemilang Darjah Pertama is the highest Bruneian award to be conferred on foreign police chiefs. The conferment of this award to Commissioner of Police (CP) Hoong Wee Teck reflects the excellent relationship and close cooperation between the SPF and the Royal Brunei Police Force in combating transnational crime.
“I am honoured and humbled to receive this award. I would also like to share this honour with all the men and women of the Singapore Police Force. This award reflects the long-standing friendship and cooperation between both police forces, and we will continue to work closely with the Royal Brunei Police Force to fight transnational crime,” said CP Hoong after the ceremony.
CP Hoong is the first recipient in the SPF to be conferred this award.
