A 19-year-old man will be charged in court for the offence of Rash Act causing Grievous Hurt under Section 338(a) of the Penal Code, Chapter 224 on 24 April 2017 for his involvement in an accident between two cars on 27 August 2016 at about 5.45pm, at the open-space car park near Stadium Road. He was arrested by the Police on 29 August 2016.

 

As a result of the accident, both vehicles were seriously damaged and a 65-year-old man sustained serious injuries.

 

If found guilty of Rash Act causing Grievous Hurt under Section 338(a) of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, offenders shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to 4 years, or a fine which may extend to $10,000, or both.

 

Traffic Police takes a stern view on dangerous driving behaviour that puts the lives of others at risk. Motorists who commit such acts will be strictly dealt with to the full extent of the law.
