The Police have arrested a 31-year-old man who is believed to be involved in a case of Attempted Snatch Theft at Block 35 Bedok South Avenue 2.  

 

On 28 April 2017 at about 8.54 pm, a woman reported to the Police that a man who was in the same lift as her had tried to snatch her wallet as she exited the lift. The suspect fled when the victim shouted for help.

 

Officers from Bedok Division conducted extensive ground enquiries and with the aid of footages from Police cameras (POLCAMs) established the identity of the suspect and arrested him on 29 April 2017 at Tampines MRT. 

 

 The suspect will be charged in Court on 1 May 2017 with the offence of Attempted Snatch Theft under Section 356 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224 punishable with imprisonment for a term of not less than one year and not more than 7 years, and shall also be liable to canning.
