The Police have arrested a 41-year-old man, who is believed to be involved in a case of Housebreaking and Theft by Night.

 

On 20 June 2017 at about 8.16 am, the Police received a report that someone had broken into the general office of a school along Chai Chee Street. Several laptops belonging to the school were reported to be stolen.

 

With the aid of images retrieved from the school’s CCTV cameras and Police cameras (POLCAMs) from the neighbourhood, officers from Bedok Police Division established the identity of the suspect and arrested him at about 12.25 pm on the same day.

 

The suspect will be charged in Court on 21 June 2017 with the offence of Housebreaking and Theft by Night under Section 457 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. The offence carries an imprisonment term which of not less than 2 years and not more than 14 years and shall also be liable to fine.
