The Police have arrested a 16-year-old suspect who is believed to be involved in a case of Armed Robbery at Yishun Ave 5.

 

On 19 June 2017 at about 10.55 pm, a 22-year-old victim reported that an unknown male suspect had entered a shop armed with a knife and robbed cash amounting to about S$230/-.

 

Upon receipt of the report, officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division conducted extensive follow-up investigations and subsequently arrested the suspect on 21 June 2017 at Yishun Central.

 

The suspect will be charged in Court on 23 June 2017 for an offence of Armed Robbery under Section 394 read with Section 397 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. If convicted, he faces a jail term of not less than five years and not more than 20 years and shall also be punished to caning of not less than 12 strokes of the cane.
