The Police have arrested a 44-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of Outrage of Modesty on-board a train along Yishun on 3 July 2017.

 

On 2 July 2017, information on a train molester was posted on social media. Through extensive ground enquiries, officers from Jurong Police Division and the Public Transport Security Command managed to establish the identity of the suspect. On 5 July 2017 at 4.45pm, arising from a tip off from a member of the public, officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division arrested the suspect at Hougang Mall.

 

Investigations are ongoing. Anyone convicted for the offence of Outrage of Modesty under Section 354(1) of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, shall be punished with an imprisonment term which may extend to 2 years, or with caning, or with combination of such punishments.
