Close cooperation between Home Team agencies
We refer to Ms Amy How's letter "Is cooperation between agencies effective?” (Straits Times, 1 July 2017).
The Police work closely with other Government agencies to bring all perpetrators of crime to justice. This includes working with the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority to stop persons-of-interest from leaving Singapore via our checkpoints.
With regard to the alleged murder of the elderly couple at Bedok Reservoir Road on 21 June 2017, the suspect had already left Singapore using her passport well before the case was reported to the Police. The Police are working with the Indonesian authorities on the case. We are unable to comment further on the case as investigations are ongoing.
