The Police have arrested a 56-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of Robbery with Hurt along Lorong 5 Toa Payoh.

 

On 4 July 2017 at about 8.00 p.m., an 82-year-old man reported that he had been assaulted by an unknown man and his money was robbed by the suspect.

 

Through extensive ground enquiries and with the aid of footages from Police cameras (POLCAMs), officers from Tanglin Police Division managed to establish the identity of the suspect and arrested him along Lorong 7 Toa Payoh on 10 July 2017.

 

The suspect will be charged in Court on 12 July 2017 with the offence of Robbery with Hurt under Section 394 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224.  If convicted, he faces a jail term of not less than 5 years and not more than 20 years, and shall also be punished with caning of not less than 12 strokes.
