The Police have arrested four youths, aged between 14 and 16, for their suspected involvement in a case of Criminal Conspiracy to Commit Robbery along Bishan Street 12.
On 16 July 2017 at about 12.56 am, the Police were alerted to a case of men donning black mask along Bishan Street 12. Upon receipt of the report, officers from Tanglin Police Division responded swiftly and managed to detain four suspects along Bishan Road.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects had planned to commit robbery at the vicinity earlier but they decided to abandon the plans subsequently. Police investigations are ongoing.
The offence of Criminal Conspiracy to Commit Robbery under Section 120B read with Section 392 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224 is punishable with imprisonment for a term of not less than 2 years and not more than 10 years, and shall also be punished with caning with not less than 6 strokes; and if the robbery is committed after 7 p.m. and before 7 a.m. the offender shall be punished with imprisonment for a term of not less than 3 years and not more than 14 years and shall also be punished with caning with not less than 12 strokes.
