As part of the year-long Home Team NS50 celebrations, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) will be organising a special event - “Reunion @ Old Police Academy” on Saturday, 22 July 2017 at the Old Police Academy along Thomson Road.  Please refer to Annex A for the location map.

The event will be hosted by Mr Desmond Lee (Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister for Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of National Development). Please refer to Annex B for the event programme.

This event is made the more special as it is organised by a committee of Police NSmen, for NSmen. The Old Police Academy will re-open its gates to SPF National Servicemen, retired and current serving officers and their families. They will take part in a Heritage Walk within the grounds of the Old Police Academy to reminisce their formative years spent there. The event provides an opportunity for them to meet their peers and former trainers who have retired from the Force. During the event, items of historical significance will be also placed into a time capsule which will be capped for 25 years.

As part of the event, we will also be screening selected episodes from the MHA-commissioned web series titled “Frontliners”, which tell the story of Home Team NSFs and NSmen.

We have also arranged for your reporters to interview our officers, both past and present, who have served or trained at Old Police Academy. These officers have many years of experience and great stories to share. The director and the cast of the first episode of “Frontliners” will also be present for media interviews.

Your reporters, photographers and video crew are cordially invited to cover the event. Please confirm your representatives’ details with the Police Media Information Centre at 6478 2122/33 by 3.00pm on Friday, 21 July 2017. Media representatives attending the event are requested to meet Public Communications Officer Patrick Pang (9628 6800) at Blk 4, the Sports Pavilion of Old Police Academy on 22 July 2017 @ 9.45am.
