Three men and four women were arrested following a 13-hour joint enforcement operation conducted on 20 July 2017. In addition, one massage establishment was also detected to have breached licensing regulations.

The operation was jointly led by officers from Ang Mo Kio Division and Central Narcotics Bureau, and involved officers from the Singapore Civil Defence Force.  The officers conducted checks at housing estates in Ang Mo Kio, Hougang, Kovan, and Upper Paya Lebar.

The three men were arrested for drug-related offences. Drug paraphernalia were seized as case exhibits.

The remaining four women were arrested under the Provision of the Women’s Charter. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects were believed to be advertising sexual service via online websites and operating within the residential areas. Cash amounting to about S$940, and 4 handphones were seized as case exhibits.

Investigations against the suspects arrested are ongoing.

Commander of Ang Mo Kio Police Division, Assistant Commissioner of Police Lian Ghim Hua, expressed his appreciation to all the agencies involved. He commended the officers for their excellent teamwork and coordination which led to the successful joint operation. He added, “The Police will continue to work closely with our enforcement counterparts to fight crimes and keep our streets safe.”
