The Police have arrested a 27-year-old man who is believed to be involved in a case of snatch theft.

 

On 22 July 2017 at about 6.43pm, a 61-year-old victim reported to the Police that an unknown male subject had snatched her handbag, containing $500 and a handphone, near the lift lobby of Blk 666 Hougang Avenue 4 and fled.

 

Officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division conducted extensive ground enquiries. The suspect’s identity was established and he was arrested along Ang Mo Kio Avenue 4 on 25 July 2017. 

 

The suspect will be charged in State Court on 26th July 2017 with an offence of Snatch Theft under Section 356 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. If convicted, he will be punished with an imprisonment for a term of not less than one year and not more than 7 years, and shall also be liable to caning.
