The Police Coast Guard (PCG) has arrested two men for unlawful entry into Singapore on 26 July 2017.

On 26 July 2017 at about 12.47 am, in collaboration with the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA), PCG detected one wooden craft with two men on board at the sea South of Bedok Jetty heading towards Singapore. Both land and sea resources were deployed immediately to apprehend the two men. At about 12.57 am, the two men, aged 19 and 20, were swiftly intercepted and arrested for unlawful entry into Singapore under the Immigration Act, Chapter 133.

The PCG and ICA take a serious view of attempts to enter Singapore illegally. Commander of the Police Coast Guard, Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police Hsu Sin Yun said, “Our borders are our first line of defence in safeguarding Singapore's security. PCG will continue to work closely with other agencies and stakeholders to stamp out any unlawful attempts to enter Singapore”.
