The Police have arrested a 24-year-old man who is believed to be involved in a case of housebreaking and theft by night.
On 27 July 2017 at about 10.51am, the Police received a report that a shop located along Beach Road was broken into and cash amounting to $200/- was stolen.
Through extensive ground enquiries and investigative follow-up, officers from Central Police Division established the identity of the suspect and arrested him along Beach Road on 28 July 2017 at about 2.30pm.
The suspect will be charged in Court on 29 July 2017 with the offence of housebreaking and theft by night under Section 457 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224 which is punishable with imprisonment for a term not less than 2 years and not more than 14 years.
