The Police mounted enforcement operations against errant massage establishments on 2 August 2017 at the vicinity of Jalan Besar, Dalhousie Lane, Dunlop Street, Mayo Street and Sago Lane.
As part of the ongoing enforcement against illegal activities in massage establishments, officers from Central Police Division raided seven message establishments and a total of twenty-two women in the seven outlets were checked. As a result of the operation, six women aged between 24 and 48 were arrested for offences under the Women’s Charter and for working without a valid work permit. Police also seized thirty massage beds, ten shower cubicles and other paraphernalia used by the massage outlets.
Investigations against the operators of the seven massage outlets and the six suspects are ongoing.
