The Police have arrested a 36-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of robbery reported along Bukit Batok St 31.
On 14 August 2017 at about 3.30 pm, the staff of a handphone shop reported to the Police that the suspect had entered his shop and said that he had a knife in his bag before he made away with a mobile phone.
Upon receipt of the report, officers from Jurong Police Division responded to the case and arrested the suspect in the vicinity quickly. A knife found in his possession was seized as a case exhibit.
The suspect will be charged in Court on 16 August 2017 with the offence of Robbery under Section 392 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, which carries a punishment of imprisonment for a term of not less than 3 years and not more than 14 years and caning of not less than 12 strokes.
