The Police have arrested a 43-year-old man believed to be involved in two cases of House-Breaking and Theft by day in two residential units along Geylang Road.

 

On 18 August 2017, two women aged 17 and 42, reported to the Police that someone had broken into their units. Cash amounting to S$370/- was stolen from the 17-year-old victim.

 

Through extensive ground enquiries and with the aid of CCTVs, officers from Bedok Division established the identity of the suspect and arrested him along Balestier Road on 25 August 2017.

 

The suspect will be charged in Court on 26 August 2017 with the offence of House-Breaking and Theft by day under Section 454 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224 and will be remanded for further investigation. House-Breaking and Theft by day carries an imprisonment term which may extend to 10 years.
