The Police have arrested a 64-year-old man who is believed to be involved in a case of snatch theft.

 

On 26 August 2017 at about 11.32 am, an 80-year-old victim reported to the Police that her gold chain was snatched away by a male subject at Blk 102 Henderson Crescent.  

 

Officers from Clementi Police Division conducted extensive ground enquires and with the aid of footages from Police Cameras (Polcams), the suspect’s identity was established and he was arrested at Geylang Lorong 39 on the same day. The gold chain was recovered.

 

The suspect will be charged in Court on 28 August 2017 with the offence of Snatch Theft under Section 356 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. If convicted, he will be punished with an imprisonment for a term of not less than one year and not more than 7 years, and shall also be liable to caning.
