The Police have arrested 34 men and 45 women, aged between 18 and 68, during a series of enforcement operations conducted from 24 to 25 August 2017
During the operation, officers from Central Police Division conducted checks at massage establishments and public entertainment outlets in Chinatown, Tanjong Pagar, Little India, Jln Besar and Bendemeer. The suspects were arrested for offences under the Women’s Charter, Chapter 353, gambling and employment related offences. An internet casino located along Kitchener Road was also raided and 10 computers and cash amounting to $3,511/ were seized.
Investigations against the suspects are ongoing.
Commander of Central Police Division, Assistant Commissioner of Police (AC) Arthur Law commended the officers for their excellent teamwork which led to the successful operation. AC Arthur added, “Police will continue to clamp down on sleaze and criminal activities. Those found engaging in illicit activities will be dealt with sternly in accordance to the law”.
