The Police have arrested a 19-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of attempted theft of motorcycle.

 

On 24 August 2017 at about 7.50am, the Police received a report of an unknown male subject behaving suspiciously at the car park of Blk 604 Yishun Street 61. The suspect was seated on a motorcycle and attempted to start it with keys. However, the suspect fled when one of the resident attempted to detain him.

 

Officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division conducted extensive enquiries and with the aid of CCTV footages, the identity of the suspect was established and he was arrested at Blk 459 Yishun Avenue 11 on 29 August 2017.

 

The suspect will be charged in Court on 31 August 2017 for the offence of Attempted Theft of Motor Vehicle under Section 379A read with Section 511 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. If convicted, the suspect is liable to an imprisonment term of up to 7 years and a fine.
