The police have arrested a 42-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of attempted armed robbery at Blk 204A Punggol Field Road.

 

On 6 March 2018 at about 11.09 am, a 38-year-old victim reported that an unknown man had attempted to rob her along the corridor of her flat with a paper cutter.

 

Upon receipt of the report, officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division conducted extensive ground enquiries and established the identity of the suspect. He was subsequently arrested along Hougang Ave 3 on the same day. A paper cutter was seized from the suspect.

 

The suspect will be charged in Court on 8 March 2018 with the offence of Attempted Armed Robbery under Section 393 read with Section 397 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. If convicted, he will be punished with an imprisonment for a term of not less than 5 years and not more than 20 years and shall also be punished with caning, not less than 12 strokes.
